Surface Piercings

Savanni’s online shop offers an assortment of different kinds of surface piercings. These piercings should be attached on an even spot on your skin by a professional piercer. The surface piercing is placed under your skin leaving the ends of the piercing jewelry as the only visible part. We offer dermal anchors, skin divers as well as surface barbells for your surface piercings. All of the surface jewelry in our store, including skin divers, dermal anchors and surface barbells, is made of titanium. Additionally, some of the loose parts for the dermal anchors are made of surgical steel.

</p> The dermal anchor jewelry is small and impressive pieces of jewelry that can be placed almost everywhere on the body. On the other hand it is most common to have a dermal anchor piercing in the forehead, the cheek or in the neck. The microdermal is attached to your body, under your skin, by making a small pocket under your skin where the flat base of the dermal anchor then can be placed. When the dermal anchor is attached to your body you can decorate the piece of jewelry by screwing loose body jewelry parts for example in the form of a ball on to the visible ends of the dermal anchor. Compared to for example a surface piercing there is a smaller risk of the dermal anchor growing out of your skin since it is so small. The aftercare does not require extra procedures but make sure that you take care of your personal hygiene.

Our selection of dermal anchor jewelry contains bases for dermal anchor piercings as well as loose ends for the visible ends of the dermal anchor. The bases of the dermal anchors are 1.6mm thick and have internal threads but the height can be chosen from two options. The loose body jewelry parts on the other hand come in many different models and colors as well as two different materials. Furthermore our selection of dermal anchors also includes microdermal healing posts which is a small flat loose body jewelry part especially made for a healing Dermal Anchor piercing. The microdermal healing post can also be used as a retainer if you do not want to or are not allowed to show off your dermal anchor piercing.

The placing of the skin diver piercing and the care instructions for it are similar to the instructions considering the dermal anchors. The skin divers can, as the dermal anchors, be attached almost anywhere on your body. On the other hand there are also differences between these two and the skin divers are smaller than the dermal anchors. Another big difference is that the skin divers do not allow you to change the parts of the piercing. The small size means that there is only a small risk of the skin diver growing out of your skin and you do not have to worry about a piece of jewelry that clings to your clothes.

We offer skin diver jewelry that is 1.0mm thick and that has been decorated with a clear gem – with this piece of jewelry you will be sure to attract attention wherever you choose to go.

The placing of a surface piercing is different from attaching the microdermal and the skin diver. A surface piercing requires two holes in the skin that are pierced opposite to each other and where the surface barbell, with its 90 degree corners, eventually will be placed. When you get a surface piercing you should take in to consideration the placing of the piece of surface jewelry and therefore also the stretching and mobility of the skin in this area. The surface piercing is best suited on even skin for example in the neck or on the chest. It takes time for a surface piercing to heal and there is also the risk of the surface piercing growing out of your skin.

Find the right piece of piercing jewelry for your unique surface piercing from our selection of surface barbells. The thickness of the surface barbell is 1.6mm but there are several options for the length of the bar.

Always turn to a professional piercer when you want to get a surface piercing.
